Modified food should be labelled
THERE should be prominent labels on all genetically-modified foods to allow consumers to decide for themselves if they want to take a risk.
Cigarettes were not found to be harmful to health for a long time, possibly because of the clout some companies have. Should this be the case for genetically-modified foods as well, consumers could, once again, become victims of some companies' greed.
The move to place warning labels on mobile phones, in Britain, is a good example of how products which are not fully tested should be treated. Consumers will then have a choice -- whether to be guinea pigs or not.
